Lucy’s Shop & House
I love this place. It’s like stepping back in time, which a lot of places i visit are but there’s something really nostalgic about the shop.
Lucy’s shop I guess would have been pretty much the same just on a smaller scale. I’ve no idea who Lucy is and if it was her shop, I’ve never been able to find information to confirm this.
The shop and adjoining house are on a pretty busy residential street and you just have to go for it to get in otherwise you would be waiting all day for the street to be empty. Residents seem to turn a blind eye to explorers here.
This place had everything anyone would need in a village shop. Unfortunately over the years it has been rummaged through and the display cabinets emptied but you can find items dotted around including lots of shoes, toys and clothing down to bottles of drinks and a revolting looking jar of shellfish still stood on a shelf. I expect this shop was a hive of activity in its prime, there’s even a small electronic organ in the shop.
I’ve visited here twice and both times it has been easy to get in, the floors in the shop are mostly non existent and you have to beam walk or walk across rolls of vinyl flooring.
After a good look around the shop you then have the added bonus of the house next door that belonged to the shop owner. Before we look at that look at the prices, how cheap everything was. 15p for a 4 finger KitKat 😮
Moving onto the house the living room was the best area although I now see recent photos where it has been trashed and things have gone missing.
There is an upstairs here but there isn’t a lot up there and the stairs are awful and falling apart. Outside the back are some chairs and stuff, there’s bits and bobs all through the back of the house and back of the shop plus an old car. This place remains one of my favourite explores.
Thanks for looking and if you like this you can see more of my pictures and explores over at https://www.facebook.com/RXQueen74
